Janet Cohen is lifelong student of human development based in Delray Beach, Florida, in the United States. 

She is a licensed facilitator and certified professional coach, who was an active member of the More to Life community in Houston, Texas for more than 40 years.  Janet was one of the first mentors and coaches in the program, and she was Training Supervisor for the first Way of a Warrior program in 1988.

Cohen is highly trained and experienced at listening and facilitation skills.  She coaches and teaches internationally.

Janet has a degree in Individual and Family Studies from The Pennsylvania State University.  For more than 30 years, Cohen has raised consciousness and millions of dollars for nonprofit organizations while teaching them to do the same.

Her training programs have been highly praised.  She teaches writing practice at the University of Texas Medical Branch.  Cohen was one of the most highly rated presenters at the Association of FundRaising Professionals “Ask the Experts” Conference and has presented at the International Association of FundRaising Executives Conference. She has taught at Rice University and the University of Texas Medical Branch.

Cohen served as Public Information and Grants Officer for the City of Galveston, where she was the spokesperson for the mayor and city manager.  She was responsible for all communications with the public in print and broadcast media, wrote programs for and managed the city’s municipal access television channels, and was the media liaison for the city.  She was the city’s expert on communications regarding natural disasters.

Ms. Cohen was one of the first development directors in the US working with HIV/AIDS in the 1980’s and early 90’s.  Her work impacted access to health care nationwide.

In addition to Cohen’s expertise with nonprofit organizations, she served one of the largest philanthropic corporations in the world.  She managed internal communications regarding philanthropy, wrote all materials relating to diversity and inclusion for that client, and served as communications coordinator for daily disaster reporting to a global corporation.

Cohen is the mother of an adopted child who expects to receive her degree in graphic design in 2025.
