Power of Writing Practice

I have been partnered with UTMB Galveston for many years to teach writing Practice through OLLI, the Osher Lifelong Learning program. While in Galveston, I will lead a writing retreat on February 5, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.  Please read below to see if this piques your interest.

Bring a journal, a pen, and maybe a tablet. You will learn a little, write, read some of your work (if you want to share), and commune with other people of like mind.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a published author, a closet novelist, a poet, or a mystery writer. You can be a nonfiction junkie, a writer of erotica or textbooks. You can be a college graduate or someone who failed English class.

In a supportive atmosphere, you will be encouraged to drop all the “rules” about writing and simply write for the fun of it.

Suggested reading: Writing Down the Bones by Natalie Goldberg, available at Galveston Bookshop, Amazon and other major retailers.

Registration for the one-day retreat is first come, first served. Light lunch is included.  If you are a member of OLLI, the fee is $75.00. If you are not an OLLI member, the fee is $100 and includes an annual OLLI membership.
